The recovery tank is located at the rear of the machine on the right-hand side. Inside the tank you will find a fluff filter to protect the vacuum motor, an electronic float switch that shuts the machine off when the tank is full, and a debris tray that catches larger particles from the floor.

Hello, my name is Rob Freeman and welcome to Alpha Power Cleaners. Today we’re going to look at the Tennant T16 ride-on floor scrubber dryer and how to empty the recovery tank on the machine. So on the Tennant T16, the recovery tank can be found at the rear of the machine and on the right hand side. The tank lid can be lifted like so and the dirt tank can be drained using the drain hose on the rear of the machine. Now, a few things to remember on this is to ensure that every time you fill up the clean tank, you empty the recovery tank.
It’s also really good practice to ensure that the tank is flushed out every time when you empty it to ensure that there’s not a buildup of debris in the bottom of the tank, which can cause blockages. Inside here as well, you’ve also got the fluff filter to protect the vacuum motor and you’ve got an electronic float inside the machine which will shut it off when the tank is full. Again, it’s also really important to ensure there’s no debris left around that float. The only other thing inside the tank to worry about is the debris tray, which can be found inside the machine.
This will pick up any bits of debris that have not been pre-swept from the floor. But like with all floor scrubber dryers, if you pre-swept your floor correctly, then there should be very little debris in here. So on the rear of the machine, you got the recovery tank, and this can be drained simply by the right hand hose, which can be unclipped, twist the cap, and drain it away. It’s vitally important when we put that cap back on that you twist it fully closed and return it to position so there’s no loss of suction.
