This video guide from Alpha Power Cleaners shows you how to correctly charge the battery on a Tennant T7 floor scrubber dryer. Proper charging habits are essential for maximising battery life and keeping your machine ready for work when you need it.

In this video, you will see exactly:

  • where the charging panel and Anderson plug are located on the machine
  • how the dead man switch cuts power during charging for safety
  • how to plug in and start charging using a standard 240V socket
  • why you should open the lid during charging for ventilation
  • why you should charge from flat overnight rather than opportunity charging

Following the correct charging procedure protects the battery, extends its working life, and avoids costly replacement bills.

Hi, I’m Dave from Alpha Power Cleaners and today I’m going to show you how to charge a Tennant T7.

The charging panel on the T7 is on the front panel just below the seat. This is located with an Anderson plug and also a dead man switch. So when the plug is put in, it cuts the power to the machine so it can’t be moved, but it will charge the batteries.

Once charging the batteries, plug the charger into the wall – which is a 240V socket – open the lid on the T7 so it’s well ventilated, and follow normal battery charging procedures, making sure the batteries are nearly empty before charging.

Once the machine is flat, we advise you to charge the machine overnight to get a full charge into it.

Do not opportunity charge this machine – i.e. use the machine for 20 minutes and then put it on charge. Doing so will not only affect the running of the machine but could also result in a costly battery replacement bill.
