Hi, I’m Nick from Alpha Power Cleaners. Today we’re going to be talking about the Tennant T12 ride-on scrubber dryer and how to empty its recovery tank or dirty water tank.
The dirty water tank is situated at the rear of the machine. The dirty water drain hose is situated on the rear right side of the machine. To empty the tank, you simply unscrew the cap and allow gravity to do the rest. Best practice is to swill it out with a bit of clean water, and when the dirty water runs clear, you know that the tank is cleared of any dirt. Please ensure that this is done after every scrub, as we often get call-outs because customers have not done so.
Inside the dirty water tank, you’ll find a storm drain protector. We always recommend that you sweep as much as possible before scrubbing. However, we do find that sometimes people will miss debris on the floor. The storm drain protector is there to capture any errant dirt that might go into the recovery tank. This is purely to protect your storm drains rather than the machine. So, as I say, it is very important that you sweep before scrubbing.
Inside, you’ll find an electronic sensor. This will shut off the motor when the tank is full. When you are doing your daily maintenance, please ensure that this is cleaned properly, as if it is dirty, it will remain in the upright position and the machine will indicate that it is full of water when it isn’t. So please ensure that this is cleaned properly.
