How to get the best results from your Floor Scrubber Dryer
Cleaning floors can be tiresome work, but makes it all the more rewarding when you manage to get those floors looking brand new. Scrubber dryers are a widely used piece of machinery in the cleaning industry, as they can clean large floors with minimal effort from the user in no time.

As the name suggests, a scrubber dryer works by massaging/scrubbing the flooring by using a cleaning fluid to gently, but thoroughly, remove dirt and grease. It then removes the majority of the moisture deposited onto the flooring leaving it fresh, clean and dry.
How to get the best results from your Scrubber Dryer? There are a few different mechanisms or techniques you can use with a scrubber dryer, yielding different results from your floors.

Pad or brush?
Using the correct pad recommended for your floor surface will enable the scrubber dryer to work to the best of its ability. Whatever flooring you are cleaning, there will be a recommended floor pad to use with chemical cleaner to yield outstanding results. For the following floors we recommend:
- Tile floor with multiple coats of finish needs a light duty pad to avoid damage
- Uneven concrete floor needs an aggressive brush to reach all the crevices
- Carpeted floors that needs a gentle wash, use a soft brush
Pad pressure
Using the pressure adjustments on the machine means you’ll be able to easily control how vigorous the clean is on the flooring. Although, this must come with a warning as too much pressure may damage the flooring.
Choice of chemicals
Choosing what detergent to use will dramatically change the result you get. Investing in chemicals that work well with the flooring you’ll be cleaning will ensure the surface isn’t damaged during the cleaning process, but will still thoroughly remove the dirt embedded in the fabric and crevices.
It’s important you dilute your chemical cleaner before use with clean water, as an under diluted solution could leave your flooring looking smeared and feeling sticky.
We have several cleaning detergents available and we can advise you on which is best for your machine.
Maintenance
Making sure your scrubber dryer is in great condition is also a great way of ensuring your floors will be cleaned with a highly efficient piece of machinery. Any filters should be unclogged before use to ensure maximum efficiency and prevent blockages and breakages.
Additionally, after every use you should empty out the solution tanks and recovery tanks, then add clean water to flush out the rest of the system. Flushing the debris and dirt out of the machine will make it last longer and work more efficiently for years to come.
We offer servicing and maintenance contracts for our hire products, to find out more, see our servicing and repairs page.
Squeegees
These rubber blades are what help the scrubber dryer to remove the moisture after it has done cleaning the surface. The machine will only perform this step effectively if the blades are in good condition, and once they begin to wear they will leave streak marks and moisture on the floor.
Anyone operating the machine should be trained to identify this wear and subsequently, how to change the blades.
